The Managing Partners

Marie Antoinette Airut

Marie Antoinette Airut is one of the firm’s Founding Partners. She has been a member of the Beirut Bar Association since 1975 and an Assistant Professor of French and Lebanese Commercial and Corporate Law at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Saint-Joseph University of Beirut since 1978.
Marie Antoinette obtained a Bachelor in Philosophy from l’Ecole des Lettres. She then obtained a Bachelor Degree in French and Lebanese Private Law from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Saint Joseph University before obtaining a Masters in Business and Corporate Law from La Sorbonne - Pantheon in Paris, France. She is fluent in Arabic, French and English, and has some knowledge of German through a one-year course at Beirut GOETHE INSTITUT.
Marie Antoinette advises in a large number of fields, mainly in the areas of corporate, mergers and acquisitions, banking, legal and financial structuring and restructuring, construction and project management, hospitality, media, commercial agency, pharmaceuticals, Intellectual Property and real estate.
Marie Antoinette is a member of several official committees in charge of reviewing and modernising the Lebanese legal system and ethics, particularly in her area of practice and teaching.

Charles Airut

Charles Airut is one of the firm’s Founding Partners. He has been a member of the Beirut Bar Association since 1978.
Charles obtained a Bachelor Degree in French and Lebanese Law from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Saint Joseph University before obtaining a Masters in Private Law from La Sorbonne - Pantheon in Paris, France. He is fluent in Arabic, French and English.
After his Masters, he joined Roger Assi law firm, with whom he worked for seventeen years.
In 1995, he founded with Marie Antoinette Airut, Airut Law Offices which has been growing since. 

Charles advises several Lebanese banks as well as foreign and local investors for matters relating to corporate, banking, bankruptcy, enforcement procedures, construction and real estate.
Charles is often invited to participate in workshops for the revision of civil procedure legislation.

Serge Airut

After graduating with a Bachelor degree in Private Law from the Faculty of Law and Political Science of Saint Joseph University in July 2008, Serge joined the firm and passed the Beirut Bar Association exam. After a few months at the firm, he joined Dewey & LeBoeuf, in their London offices for a 6-month internship in the Corporate Finance and Capital Markets department during which he worked on the issuance of GDS on the London Stock Exchange, SWAP and Issuance of Bonds under EMTN programs, loan agreements (under LMA form and others), the establishment and listing of different types of Funds in various jurisdictions (Lebanon, UK, Ireland, Luxembourg Cayman Islands, BVI…) and the restructuring of multinational companies. In September 2009, he joined back the firm to pursue his formation and undertook a few months later another internship (as of January till July 2010) at ReedSmith LLP in their Paris offices to develop his knowledge in Transportation law (Maritime and Aviation) as well as in international Arbitration under ICC and ICSID regulations. Starting August 2010, Serge joined back the firm and is simultaneously pursuing the MBA Program at the American University of Beirut (AUB).
